The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong, performed the sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a three-storey accommodation block for Warrant Officers on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, at the Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers Mess. The project, which will comprise 6 two-bedroom apartments, forms part of the Ghana Air Force's commitment to improving the welfare and living conditions of its personnel.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong described the project as a significant milestone in the Air Force's efforts to bridge the accommodation gap and enhance personnel welfare. He noted that decent housing plays a vital role in boosting the morale, well-being and productivity of personnel. He added that adequately supported personnel are better positioned to focus on their professional responsibilities and contribute effectively to the operational readiness of the Ghana Air Force.
Air Vice Marshal Agyen-Frempong urged all stakeholders involved in the construction to execute the project with professionalism, diligence and accountability to ensure the facility is completed on schedule and to the highest standards. He reaffirmed the Air Force's commitment to pursuing welfare initiatives alongside efforts to strengthen operational capabilities, stressing that both objectives are essential to building a stronger, mission-ready force.

The CAS further encouraged Warrant Officers to remain disciplined, loyal and dedicated to their duties. He described the project as a testament to the Service's appreciation for their invaluable contributions. He expressed optimism that the new accommodation would serve personnel and their families for many years to come.

The ceremony concluded with prayers by the clergy to consecrate the project site, after which the Chief of the Air Staff officially broke ground to signify the commencement of construction.
