GAF, ROVERMAN PRODUCTIONS RAISE FUNDS FOR SPECIAL NEEDS SCHOOL
The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) in collaboration with Roverman Productions, has staged a charity play titled ‘Love on the Ropes’ at Burma Hall on Sunday, 21 September 2025. The event was to raise funds towards the establishment of a school for children with special needs.
The initiative forms part of efforts by the GAF to provide quality education for dependents of service personnel with special needs as well as children from the general public.
Speaking at the event, the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General William Agyapong, revealed that the idea of setting up a special school was first announced during his maiden durbar with troops. He noted that, with the support of the Service Chiefs and commitment of GAF personnel, the project has been set in motion to positively impact society.
The CDS further commended, Artistic Director and Lead Writer of Roverman Productions, Uncle Ebo Whyte for honouring the Armed Forces with the charity play. In appreciation, Lieutenant General Agyapong presented a portrait to him.
As part of the fundraising drive, a mobile short code *753*10# and a Service Integrity Savings and Loans account number 1100108597800 were provided for the public to make donations in support of the project.
For his part, Uncle Ebo Whyte expressed gratitude to the Military High Command for the opportunity to contribute to the laudable initiative.
He noted that the establishment of the school would go a long way to support and transform the lives of children with special needs.
