The visit, led by the Chief Instructor, Colonel Maxwell Essuman, offered the students an opportunity to appreciate the roles, functions and practical operational capabilities of the Air Force Base Accra and the importance of effective air traffic management to aviation safety and national security.

Squadron Leader Annang Kwabena Breman who briefed the students, highlighted the importance of air traffic control in coordinating aircraft movements, maintaining flight safety and ensuring the orderly use of airspace.

He further highlighted the operations of No. 3 Helicopter Wing, which include, tactical airlift, troop transportation, medical and casualty evacuation, search and rescue, disaster response, reconnaissance and internal security operations.

He underscored the Wing’s support to joint military operations, maritime security, humanitarian assistance and United Nations peace support missions, demonstrating the versatility of helicopter operations in addressing both military and national emergencies.
