GHANA AIR FORCE MOUNTS GUARD OF HONOUR FOR VISITING HEADS OF STATE AHEAD OF HIGH-LEVEL CONSULTATIVE CONFERENCE
The Ghana Air Force on Thursday 29 January 2026, mounted a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the VIP Lounge of the Kotoka International Airport in Accra to formally receive visiting Heads of State arriving in Ghana for a high-level consultative conference on regional cooperation and security.

The two-day conference, scheduled to take place from Thursday, 29 to Friday, 30 January 2026, brings together Heads of State, ministers, and other high-ranking dignitaries from across the West African sub-region. The engagement is aimed at fostering dialogue on strategic leadership and strengthening regional collaboration. Additionally, advancing collective efforts towards safeguarding lives, promoting peace, and enhancing stability within the sub-region.

As the duty service for the period, the Ghana Air Force mounted an immaculate and well-coordinated Guard of Honour to welcome the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, His Excellency Julius Maada Bio, upon his arrival. The ceremonial parade, executed with precision and professionalism, reflected the Air Force’s commitment to excellence in both operational and ceremonial duties.

Later in the evening, the President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, also arrived in the country. Other Heads of State, ministers, and other distinguished guests are expected to arrive to participate in the conference, underscoring the significance of the event and Ghana’s central role in regional diplomacy.

In line with its constitutional and diplomatic responsibilities, the Ghana Air Force is mandated to undertake ceremonial functions of national and international importance, including the mounting of Guards of Honour and other state parades for visiting dignitaries. Through such engagements, the Ghana Air Force continues to project Ghana’s image of discipline, professionalism, and hospitality, while reinforcing its critical role in supporting peace, stability, and regional cooperation within West Africa.
