The Special Guest of Honour, Group Captain Patrick Kuu-Ire, has urged participants of the Flight Commanders Course 2/26 to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the six-week programme to improve staff work and enhance performance in their respective units.

He made the call at the closing ceremony of the course held on Friday, 25 September 2026, at the Ghana Air Force Aviation College (GHAFAC).

Group Captain Kuu-Ire stated that the course was designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to effectively perform staff duties while preparing them for further professional military education.

He explained that the course's focus on essential minor staff duties was intended to strengthen participants' ability to originate and respond to official correspondence, prepare reports and undertake other responsibilities associated with effective staff work.

He emphasised that proficiency in these areas was fundamental to the effective discharge of staff duties, noting that officers would frequently be required to initiate correspondence, respond to official letters within stipulated timelines and prepare reports in the course of their appointments.

The Special Guest of Honour further noted that the Flight Commanders Course serves as an important foundation for officers preparing to undertake the Junior Staff Course at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC).

He therefore encouraged the participants to remain organised, responsive and committed to professional excellence as they assumed greater responsibilities in their respective appointments.

Group Captain Kuu-Ire congratulated the participants on successfully completing the intensive six-week programme and commended the award winners for distinguishing themselves. He described their achievements as a reflection of the hard work, discipline, commitment and dedication demonstrated throughout the course.

He reminded the participants that completing the course should not be regarded as the end of their learning journey, but rather the beginning of applying their newly acquired knowledge and skills to improve staff work in their respective units.

He also commended the facilitators for their dedication and contribution to the successful conduct of the course and expressed appreciation to the Ghana Air Force Leadership Academy and GHAFAC for providing the conducive environment and resources necessary for the training.

The successful completion of the Flight Commanders Course 2/26 underscores the Ghana Air Force's commitment to developing personnel with the professional knowledge, confidence and staff skills required to support effective command and administration across the Service.

The course, organised by the Ghana Air Force Leadership Academy, brought together 24 participants, comprising 23 officers from the Ghana Air Force and one officer from the Ghana Navy.
