K-8 AIRCRAFT TECHNICIANS AND ENGINEERS GRADUATE FROM GHAFAC

The Ghana Air Force Aviation College (GHAFAC) held a closing ceremony for K-8 aircraft technicians and engineers on Friday, 17 October 2025. The event marked the successful completion of the K-8 Type Rating Course, a six-week intensive training programme designed to enhance participants’ technical proficiency in the maintenance and operation of the K-8 aircraft.

The course equipped aircraft technicians and engineers with advanced technical knowledge and practical proficiency in the maintenance and operation of the K-8 aircraft, a vital asset within the Ghana Air Force’s fleet. Training modules covered aircraft systems, troubleshooting, inspection procedures, and maintenance best practices, all aimed at enhancing operational readiness, efficiency, and air safety standards.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Guest of Honour, Wing Commander Benneth Amaning, commended the graduates, who were drawn from across the various bases, for their discipline, commitment, and professionalism throughout the course. He urged them to apply the knowledge and skills acquired with pride, diligence, and a sense of duty to support the Ghana Air Force’s mission of delivering air power in defence of national interests.

Wing Commander Amaning further underscored the strategic importance of continuous technical training, emphasising that sustained capacity development ensures personnel remain proficient in handling aircraft systems and enhances the overall operational capability of the Air Force.

He added that such training programmes form part of the Air Force’s broader drive towards technological advancement, self-reliance in aircraft maintenance, and long-term fleet sustainability, contributing significantly to national security and mission readiness.
