Personnel of the Ghana Air Force were among 297 victims of the Ghana Armed Forces who received relief assistance after being affected by the recent floods that affected various parts of the country. The presentation ceremony was held on Friday, 31 July 2026, at the Nicholson Sports Stadium in Burma Camp, where victims from the Ghana Army, Ghana Navy, Ghana Air Force, and Defence Civilian Staff assembled to receive the relief items.

The initiative was aimed at providing immediate assistance to personnel whose homes and properties were affected by the floods, reaffirming the Ghana Armed Forces commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families. The relief package, presented by the Ghana Armed Forces High Command, included bags of rice, cooking oil, mattresses, blankets, soaps, mosquito nets, and an undisclosed amount of money.

Addressing the affected personnel, the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General William Agyapong, stated that the disaster had reinforced the High Command's commitment to accelerating the redevelopment of Burma Camp and other military housing projects to provide safer and improved accommodation for personnel and their families living outside the barracks. He acknowledged that although the relief items could not fully compensate for the losses suffered, they symbolised the care and solidarity of the Commander-in-Chief, the Ministry of Defence, the High Command, and the entire Ghana Armed Forces.

The CDS also announced the establishment of a dedicated counselling unit at the 37 Military Hospital to provide psychological support to affected personnel. He expressed appreciation to the Ministry of the Interior, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), the Service Chiefs, and other officers whose contributions made the relief exercise possible. He urged the beneficiaries to accept the support as a demonstration of the Armed Forces genuine concern and reaffirmed the institution's unwavering commitment to their welfare and resilience.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Ghana Armed Forces High Command for the timely intervention. They described the relief package as a meaningful gesture of compassion and solidarity, and pledged to remain dedicated to their duties while rebuilding their lives with the support received.
