THREE AIR FORCE SENIOR OFFICERS AMONG 26 PARTICIPANTS MATRICULATED FOR NATIONAL DEFENCE COURSE

Three senior officers from the Ghana Air Force; Group Captain Ekow Anaman, Group Captain Vincent Kodzo Edem Agboado and Group Captain Kwame Alifo were among 26 participants officially matriculated into Course 2-2025 of the National College of Defence Studies. The ceremony was held on Wednesday 5 March 2025 at Burma Hall, Burma Camp.

 

 

The participants, drawn from the Ghana Armed Forces, other security services and allied nations including Nigeria, Rwanda and Zambia, will undertake an intensive academic programme aimed at fostering strategic leadership in defence and security.

 

 

Delivering his speech, the Guest of Honour and Chief of Staff at the Office of the President Honourable Julius Debrah reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting the Defence College in its infrastructural and logistical needs.

 

 

He emphasized the importance of equipping military and security personnel with the necessary expertise to tackle emerging security challenges across the sub-region.

 

 

Hon Debrah commended the theme for Course 2, “Smart Governance for Sustainable Development,” describing it as a timely and relevant initiative. He encouraged participants to engage fully in the programme and develop transformative ideas that would contribute to national and regional stability.

 

 

Amid rising threats of insurgency, terrorism and violent extremism in West Africa, he underscored the need for nurturing strategic leaders with the requisite knowledge and skills to address these security concerns while advancing development goals in their respective countries.

 

 

Present at the ceremony were the Minister for Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Interior, Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, Chief of the Defence Staff, General Thomas Oppong-Peprah and Senior Officers within the Ghana Armed Forces.
