
US AIR WAR COLLEGE STUDENTS VISIT TAMALE AND TAKORADI AIR FORCE BASES
Students and faculty from the United States Air War College Maxwell Field, Alabama, have visited Air Force Bases Takoradi and Tamale, on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 February 2025.
The visits which followed an earlier one to the Air Force Headquarters and Air Force Base, Accra on Monday 24 February 2025 was part of their study tour to Ghana aimed at fostering military diplomacy and cooperation in key areas such training, cultural exchange and strategic development.
At the two bases, the visiting team was briefed on the history, capabilities and roles of the bases in protecting key national assets and averting contemporary security threats, among others for national development as aligned with the vision and mission of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe.
At the Air Force Base Tamale, the Base Commander, Air Commodore Joshua Lartei Mensah-Larkai, acknowledged the substantial and invaluable support provided by the United States government in enhancing military capabilities within the region.
The Takoradi Base Commander, Air Commodore Kwabena Kissiedu Manukure Atiemo, an alumnus of the US Air War College, emphasised that the prestigious Institution had contributed immensely to the leadership skills and development of people who had taken the positions of command in institutions across the world.
