The Ghana Air Force (GHAF) Warrant Officers' and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers' Convention officially concluded on Thursday 30 July 2026, at the Air Force Base Accra, with participants reaffirming their commitment to strengthening leadership, professionalism and operational readiness.

The three-day convention brought together Senior Warrant Officers', Warrant officers' and Flight Sergeants from all GHAF branches and selected Tri-Service establishments to deliberate on key institutional, operational and leadership issues affecting the Service.

The convention provided a structured platform for strategic reflection, professional dialogue and solution-oriented engagement, enabling participants to assess current challenges and propose practical measures to enhance organisational effectiveness.

Deliberations focused on four key areas: leadership and command system issues, branch-specific professional matters, inter-branch coordination challenges and institutional and policy frameworks. Through presentations, panel discussions and syndicate sessions, participants examined ways of improving operational effectiveness, strengthening supervisory and mentoring roles.

The discussions culminated in the compilation of a formal communiqué containing recommendations and proposals which was presented to High Command.

Delivering the closing address, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong, commended participants for their active engagement and the quality of discussions throughout the convention, describing the recommendations as evidence of their wealth of experience and professionalism.

He assured participants that the communiqué would receive the attention it deserved. Air Vice Marshal Agyen-Frempong, however stressed that the true success of the convention would ultimately be measured by the actions taken after participants returned to their respective units.

He urged Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers to lead by example, enforce discipline fairly and consistently mentor younger personnel and uphold the highest standards of professionalism in every aspect of military service.

The Chief of the Air Staff further observed that while investments in technology, infrastructure and equipment remain essential to the Ghana Air Force's modernisation agenda, its greatest strength continues to be its personnel. He therefore encouraged participants to serve as ambassadors of positive change, inspire confidence among their subordinates and remain steadfast in upholding the core values of the Service.

Air Vice Marshal Agyen-Frempong concluded by expressing appreciation to the planning committee, Air Force Base Accra, resource persons and facilitators for the successful organisation of the convention.
