WING COMMANDER AMEDI EMERGES BEST ALLIED PARTICIPANT AT NIGERIA AIR FORCE WAR COLLEGE
Wing Commander Franklin Mawusi Amedi of the Ghana Air Force has distinguished himself at the Air Force War College, Nigeria, after emerging as the Best Allied Participant of Air War Course 12/2026.
The award was presented during the graduation ceremony of the Course held in September 2026, in recognition of his outstanding performance during the programme.
Air War Course 12/2026, which commenced on 17 January 2026, brought together senior officers from the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Air Force and allied countries for advanced professional military education.

Established in Makurdi on 5 September 2016, the Air Force War College is the highest professional military institution of the Nigerian Air Force responsible for preparing senior officers for higher responsibilities in the effective employment of air power. Its curriculum focuses on areas including operational art, joint operations, leadership, strategy and military capabilities.
Reflecting on his experience, Wg Cdr Amedi described the programme as an important transition from tactical resource management to higher-level operational and defence leadership.
He noted that the Course enhanced his understanding of joint operational planning, asymmetric and multi-domain warfare, while broadening his appreciation of security challenges from a regional perspective.

According to him, the experience has strengthened his capacity to contribute to the planning and employment of air power in support of joint operations and broader national security objectives.
Wg Cdr Amedi’s achievement reflects the professionalism and commitment to excellence of Ghana Air Force personnel participating in professional military education both at home and abroad.
