AFTRAC HOLDS OPENING CEREMONY FOR DRILL AND DUTIES, INTERMEDIATE MILITARY POLICE COURSES 1/2025

The Air Force Training Command (AFTRAC) has held an opening ceremony to commence Drill and Duties and Intermediate Military Police Courses 1/2025 on Tuesday, 18 February 2025 at the Air Force Recruit Training School (AFRTS), Takoradi.

 

 

 

The Courses which will run concurrently for a period of 12 weeks had 74 participants from the Ghana Air Force, Ghana Army and the Ghana Navy of which, 41 are expected to pursue courses in Drill and Duties while 33 will be taken through Intermediate Military Police Course. Some of the sub courses which will be thought at the Drill and Duties are: Leadership, Administration, Military Law and Drill and Duties. Participants offering Intermediate Military Police Course will be taken through Cyber security, Criminal law, Battlefield operations, Map reading, Aviation security, among others.

 

 

In his address, the Guest of Honour, Commander Air Force Training Command (AFTRAC), Air Commodore Mathias Awuah said that, the commencement of the third edition of the Drill and Duties and Military Police Courses under the auspices of AFTRAC was a noble feat that underscores the vision and commitment of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe’s efforts toward training of personnel by strategically positioning AFTRAC to conduct trade specific and specialist training for Air Force personnel and sister services.

 

 

The AFTRAC Commander commended the Commanding Officer (CO), AFRTS and his staff for successfully organising previous courses and charged them to dwell on that milestone to continue setting higher standards for the newly opened and ensuing courses. He asked participants to expect a rigorous programme that would require their full concentration, commitment, sacrifices, physical, mental fortitude and encouraged teamwork in order to realise the full objectives of the courses.

 

 

Delivering his introductory remarks, the Commanding Officer, Air Force Recruit Training School, Wing Commander Newman Suhuba Naab expressed gratitude to the Chief of the Air Staff for his unwavering support in ensuring the continuous development of personnel through structured and relevant training programmes. He commended the Commander AFTRAC, instructors and facilitators for their impact and relentless efforts in successful training of personnel.
