
AIR FORCE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY HOLDS OPENING CEREMONY FOR FLIGHT COMMANDERS’ COURSE 1/25
The Air Force Leadership Academy has held an opening ceremony for the Flight Commanders’ Course 1/25 on Friday 21 March 2025 at the institution’s conference room in Tamale. The course, consisting of twenty-two officers drawn from various Air Force Bases and tri-service units seeks to elevate and refine the leadership acumen and inherent qualities of participants.
The Commander, Air Force Training Command (AFTRAC), Air Commodore Matthias Awuah, in his welcome address commended the participants on their selection and applauded their perseverance in overcoming technical hurdles to attend. Stressing the importance of discipline, teamwork, physical fitness and strong leadership, he urged participants to embody these values throughout the programme.
The Base Commander, Air Force Base Tamale, Air Commodore Joshua Lartei Mensah-Larkai, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. He encouraged participants to engage fully with the training, emphasizing its vital role in preparing them for their duties as effective staff officers across various units of the service. Highlighting the exemplary commitment of past cohorts, he inspired participants to emulate, if not surpass, the standards set by their predecessors.
Present at the ceremony was the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Northern Command, Brigadier General Frank Nartey Tei, Officers and Airmen of the Air Force Training Command (AFTRAC).
