AIR FORCE VOLLEYBALL TEAMS QUALIFY FOR AFRICAN CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP IN TUNISIA

The Ghana Air Force Male and Female Volleyball Teams have emerged victorious in the Super Champion Cup of the Greater Accra Volleyball League which ended on Sunday, 3 November 2024 at the Borteyman Sports Complex.

 

Their achievement has earned them both a place at the prestigious African Club Championship set to take place in Tunisia in April 2025.

 

 

With their impressive performance, the Air Force teams defeated the Ghana Army Male Team and ELWAK Wings Female Team in decisive matches that underscored their dominance in this season's championship.

 

Some individual team members were honoured for their exceptional skills and contributions to their teams' success. Leading Aircraftman Tetteh Nicholas was awarded Best Server while Flight Sergeant Bavon Martha received the Best Middle Blocker (Female) award and the Most Valuable Player (Female) of the tournament. Sergeant Ekpe Kingsley won Best Setter (Male) and Corporal Numaworse Wisdom won the Most Valuable Player (Male).

 

 

 

The teams' successes were further amplified by their outstanding coaching staff. Warrant Officer Class I Bakoma John was adjudged the Best Male Team Coach and Warrant Officer Class II Owusu-Addo Samuel was recognised as the Best Female Team Coach.

 

The contribution of Ghana Air Force personnel to sports in the country cannot be underestimated. Their remarkable participation and performance at the African Games recently held in Accra, underscores their commitment to the development of sports.

 

 

As the teams prepare for the upcoming African Club Championship, they are poised to represent the nation and showcase their talent on the continental stage.
