AFTRAC COMMENCES EXERCISE EAGLE CALL FOR FLIGHT CADETS

The Air Force Training Command (AFTRAC), Tamale has held an opening ceremony for EXERCISE EAGLE CALL on Thursday, 10 October 2024 for Flight Cadets of Regular Career Course 63 (RCC 63).

 

 

The 7-week exercise is aimed at developing the ability of the Cadets to integrate relevant air operations into friendly land and maritime operations with particular emphasis on helicopter operations.

 

The training is expected to equip the Cadets with knowledge in ground and aerial communication, operations room routine and introduce them to air transport operations while practicing them on construction of helipads as well as vectoring and marshaling.

 

 

 

The Commander Air Force Base, Tamale, Air Commodore Joshua Mensah-Larkai in his remarks stated that EX EAGLE CALL was conceived to bridge the gap between the Flight Cadets’ theoretical knowledge and practices on the ground in the Ghana Air Force.

 

 

He also mentioned that, the exercise would afford the Cadets the opportunity to understand how the role of the Air Force fits into the overall concept of the Ghana Armed Forces and the integration of air power in land and maritime operations.

 

 

 

The Commander Air Force Training Command, Air Commodore Mathias Awuah in his address welcomed the Flight Cadets on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff. He expressed his enthusiasm for hosting EX EAGLE CALL for the first time and pledged his Command’s commitment to ensuring that the exercise objectives are met.

 

 

He urged the Cadets to remain disciplined at all times and to strive for excellence whiles focusing on the rewards of the training rather than the challenges.
