The Ghana Air Force has received a donation of 28 white cross belts from Ex Warrant Officer Class I (WOI) Dayan Sekyi to enhance the operational effectiveness and smart turnout of the Air Force Police. The presentation was made at the Air Force Headquarters on Friday, 31 July 2026.

Presenting the items, Ex WOI Sekyi said the donation was his way of giving back to the Service in appreciation of the support, mentorship and guidance he received throughout his military career. He noted that the Ghana Air Force played a significant role in shaping his professional life, making it a privilege to contribute to its continued growth.

He emphasised the importance of smart turnout in the military, explaining that a soldier's appearance reflects discipline, professionalism and pride in service while enhancing public confidence and the effective execution of assigned duties.

Ex WOI Sekyi also announced his intention to make the donation an annual initiative to support the Air Force Police in the performance of their responsibilities.

In addition to the white cross belts, he presented an undisclosed amount of money to be shared among selected airmen with whom he had served. According to him, the gesture was intended to recognise and encourage personnel who consistently demonstrated dedication, professionalism and exemplary turnout during his years of service.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff, the Chief Staff Officer, Air Commodore Sophia Adzo Jiagge, expressed profound appreciation to Ex WOI Sekyi for his generosity and unwavering commitment to the Ghana Air Force.

Air Commodore Jiagge further commended Ex WOI Sekyi for maintaining a strong bond with the Service after retirement and for setting an admirable example of selfless service and giving back to the institution.
