MAWO RAMANU YAKUBU BOWS OUT OF THE GHANA AIR FORCE
On Thursday 30 March, 2023 the Master Air Warrant Officer (MAWO), Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Ramanu Dzanta Yakubu brought his illustrious career and unblemished service to the Ghana Air Force (GHF) which spans 27 years to an end.
In an astounding ceremony, the handing/taking over formalities was held at the Air Force Headquarters (AFHQ) to officially transfer the Power of Authority to his successor MWO Bawah Abdulai.
Through his hard work and commitment, MWO Ramanu Yakubu held some significant appointments prior to him becoming the MAWO.
Notable amongst them are; Drill In-Charge (Air Force Recruit Training School, July 2011), Administrative Warrant Officer (FSM's office GHQ Camp, January 2015) Base Warrant Officer (Air Force Base Accra, July 2015) and Base Warrant Officer (Air Force Base Takoradi, March 2016).
MWO Ramanu had the opportunity to attend some courses and seminars which helped to build capacity and sharpen his expertise.
Some of these courses are; Managerial Leadership Course (MATS), Africa Senior Enlisted Leader Conference (Germany), Africa Air Chief Symposium (Nairobi-Kenya) and North Dakota National Guard State Partnership program (Air Force Base Accra).
The outgoing MAWO is a decorated peacekeeper who served with the United Nations Missions in Lebanon, Central African Republic, Chad, Liberia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Delivering the address on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Frederick Asare Bekoe, the Base Commander Air Force Base Accra, Air Commodore Eric Agyen-Frempong extolled the outgoing MAWO for his dedication and selfless service to the Colours for close to three decades.
" Your dexterity as a General Duties Airman combined with your passion for excellence made it possible for you to excel in all your endeavors.
Also, your exceptional leadership helped to bridge the gap between higher command and the troops.
Additionally, you worked tirelessly in ensuring that policies are implemented effectively and grievances are channeled and addressed appropriately", Air Commodore Agyen-Frempong added.
In his farewell speech, MWO Ramanu thanked the Military High Command and personnel of Ghana Air Force for their support during his tenure in office.
"I am leaving the GHF today with a wealth of knowledge. Working with the Air Force has been a fantastic journey full of opportunities and experience.
I have learnt to be open minded, listen to the opinions of others and to be a team player wherever I find myself ", he underscored.
On his part, the incoming MAWO, MWO Bawah pledged to execute his mandate diligently to help raise the standards of Airmen/women and uplift the good image of the Ghana Air Force.
To his predecessor, MWO Bawah promised to continue his good works and will not hesitate to call on him for advice whenever the need arises.
The event was witnessed by the Senior Officers at the Air Force Headquarters, Forces Sergeant Major, Chief Warrant Officer Addo Daniel, personnel and Defence Civilian Staff of the Ghana Air Force.
